18 people on board died when a 9N AME flight of Sourya Air crashed on its way from Kathmandu to Pokhara. While the plane was flying, the 'runway' of the Tribhuvan International Airport fell into the ditch on the east side. Senior Superintendent of Police Dumbar BK informed that the bodies of 18 passengers on the plane were collected while they were scattered. He said that preparations are being made to take the collected bodies to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital located in Maharajganj. One of the crew members of the plane was rescued alive. Captain Manish Shakya who was in the plane was rescued and taken to KMC Hospital.

The plane carrying employees and technicians of Saurya Air was going to Pokhara for maintenance.
